According to a well-placed source, rapper T.I., who is serving a 12 month and a day bid on gun possession charges, will be released to an Atlanta halfway house to serve out the remainder of his sentence after the New Year.

This is good news to the legions of fans of the wordsmith widely considered the best rapper of his generation.
T.I. is expected to be released to the halfway house before his scheduled May 26 release date — maybe in February or March 2010. Unlike the strict prison rules that T.I. must now adhere to, the halfway house rules will be more relaxed.
T.I. will most likely be allowed to leave the halfway house during the day to work at his Grand Hustle offices or even to marry his sweetheart Tameka “Tiny” Cottle!

Irv has some extremely valid points BUT i feel when he elaborates on the whole battling aspect of it he comes off plain ignorant. He has an opinion on jay-z, ja-rule, and dmx battling which is cool, but he experienced that firsthand. I'm guessing he saw 8 mile and was like ok, i experienced it now but he is not going to fully understand that aspect of it unless he is actually there. As for the whole 1st single thing he couldn't supress the hate any longer,i understand, they aren't serious joints and come these songs do sound sily But they are comedic and thats a part of Eminem's off the wall personality and he has a history of following up with some phenomenal songs(ie. cleaning out my closet, stan, the way i am, when i'm gone, toy soldiers, shall i keep on?)

MTV Wants To Offer More Music With New Channel

Tuning into MTV these days is not what it used to be. Once considered the premier channel to get a wide range of music videos, performances, and artist information, the programming has drastically changed in order to fit the booming ratings brought by reality TV. However, with a new music program, the network is looking to put the “M” back into MTV.

Branded as “AMTV,” the six-hour segment showcases mainstream and up-and-coming artists alike, with advertisers sponsoring the musical content. “AMTV,” which started March 30, will run from 3 to 9 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Scott Friedman, general manager of MTV, has expressed his expectations in the channel’s new morning music programming/advertising experiment, especially in their decision to bring back “Unplugged.”

“If we take ‘Unplugged,’ which our audience still knows and loves, and do a four-minute version after our highest-rated program in prime time, and then we say, ‘You can get it all immediately on MTV.com or see the full thing for the next four days in the morning,’ we’re going to have a lot more people watching,” Friedman recently told the New York Times.

Similar to their move into reality TV, Friedman is hopeful that “AMTV” will provide MTV viewers with a reason to tune in early and often. “We’re trying to move as the audience moves with their consumption habits,” adding, “we know our audience wants more of it.”

You know it would of made sense in the first place to have just made a seperate channel for reality tv to benefit when it comes to the ratings.... MTV does stand for Music Television RIGHT? BUT I do like the idea of the channel though, it gives talented artist like myself (Dow Jonez), Asher Roth, Klassik, Process, B.o.B, Wale, Kid Cudi, Young Flame and countless others to gain deserved exposure. Its hard out here for an up-and-coming artist these days, smh. The sad thing about the whole thing is that i have a bad feeling it is not going to be a basic cable channel and if ratings are low and stagnant it maybe cancelled andd/or used for alternate programming to boost ratings and gain revenue. By the way,who the hell is going to watch this when the target audience is at either work or school or sleeping?? [Shrugz]

I wish the best for the channel, thanks for noticing a missing void in the tv culture. The MUSIC TELEVISION culture i should say. I think....

Rihanna Requests That Chris Brown Apologize On The Oprah Show!!

Rihanna reportedly wants Chris Brown, who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats following his alleged assault on the Barbadian singer in February, to apologize to her on "The Oprah Winfrey Show". She believes the 19-year-old hunk should appear on Oprah Winfrey's famous show to publicly denounce his behavior, Look magazine reports.

"Oprah suggested Rihanna tell Chris that despite their recent commitment ceremony, she's been having second thoughts about them being back together," the Look insider reveals. "And agreeing to go on Oprah's show and tell the world how sorry he is will help make up her mind."

The insider tells the magazine, "Chris said no at first, but bought himself some time by saying he needed to think about it with his mother Joyce." But Chris is said to be "desperate to win over the American public" and he has realized this could be the perfect way. "Rihanna's trump card may be that Chris is desperate to avoid jail and thinks prosecutors will go easier on him if he expresses public contrition," adds the insider.
